Spend a day at the track with one of Canada's top gokart drivers Blake Choquer. Blake has over 12 years of karting experience with 1 National title 4 National podiums, and multiple regional and club championships. Learn from the pro valuable driving, cornering, braking and accelerating techniques that will help you drop lap times. Whatever you are interested in learning Blake can show you how.

Using helmet camera video reply from track sessions you can better analyze how your kart handles and your driving lineand better understand what you are doing wrong. Blake will also help in setting your kart up to better suit your driving.

Kart Works Gear Calculator Pro

The GearCalc program will help you choose the optimal gearing for your driving ability. The best possible gearing will enable you to run average RPM's that will result in your engine producing maximum horsepower and torque for a maximum percentage of each lap. This is achieved by using your engines optimum Target average RPM's in your calculations using GearCalc which in turn will provide you with the best possible gearing choice.

This Target Average RPM's should be available from your engine manufacturer. It is also available from data acquisition devices such as MyChron. As your driving skill improves you will increase your average RPM's thus allowing you to reduce your sprocket size which will yield faster lap times. The GearCalc software will help you choose optimum gearing as your ability and times improve.

It is important that the data used: Lap Times, Actual Average RPM's, Tire Circumference and Track Length be as close to actual as possible. The best aid in getting accurate data is an effective data acquisition device (it will supply Actual Average RPM's, Maximum Horsepower and Torque RPM's (Target RPM's) and Driving Line Track Length).

Seat Installation and Chassis Scaling

A very important tuning tool that is most often overlooked. If your kart is off by only 5 lbs, your kart could be miss handling or not responding as you might like. Using Intercomp scales Blake can balance your kart to a perfect front to back ratio and equal weighting from left to right. It's time to put those weights in the correct spot for the ultamite performance gain from your chassis.

Seat position is the most important starting point for chassis handling. If your seat is off by only 1 cm you can have an imbalance of 10 lbs, from left to right, front to back. Using Tillett Seat fitting techniques and jigs Blake can have your seat in the perfect place to get the proper weght ratios. After the seat is mounted Blake than puts it on the Intercomp scales and balances the chassis to make sure 100% the seat is in the correct position.100% Guaranteed Performance Gain !!
